Busan Opera House will be built between the long seashore and the low mountain, which is placed in the thriving townscape. We have noticed the location which seemed a bit unconventional. How would art blend city,mountain, and ocean together?
We chose huge, circular roof as a icon of this land. Circle, meaning original shape. This original shape connects the ocean with the mountain and the nature with man. And the life of art arises from this concaved space. This place is not merely an opera house but also a social place and a place of festival where people, art and nature blends together.

The place where this circular rooftop is making is a concaved outdoor theater. We can experience artistic while we get rained on or get direct sunlight. Under the circular roof, we could see the townscape with many different functions all blended together. The music flows in between. And these all will sublimate into art. This work is collaborated with Henning Larsen Architects.
