This project is to design an Olympic village and a Media village for ‘world championship in athletics’ held in Daegu in 2011, and to be released to the public after the competition. Located at the central location between two villages, an elementary school uniting the two villages functions as an operational headquarter during the competition, while low-rise towers maximizes openness around the school.
Occupying enough open spaces with two axises and scenic corridors, orientations and views of residential units are maximized by low-rise residences in the south. Additionally, building layout going outward from the center of the district as the skyline going upward toward the center, creates a dynamic and symbolic image like a festive firework.
